Happy Birthday TSG

As I was coloring this, I felt like a kid again, coloring in my color book. It brought back many wonderful memories of all the Precious Moments gifts I received from my 2 sons for my birthdays, Mother’s Days and Christmases. But there came a day when I finally had to them to stop!, as I was running out of shelf space, LOL.

In making this card, I had in mind to enter 3 challenges:

Friday Sketchers – Their sketch with a blue and orange combination bonus challenge

Stamp n’ Scrap Hawaii, SSH Challenge #4, Buttons, Buttons and more Buttons

There She Goes, TSG17 challenge, Birthday Card

Card Details:
Stamp: Stampendous, Precious Moments; Hero Arts, Handwritten Notes
Ink: Memento
Paper: Sweetwater Fresh Paper Collections DP; Bazzill CS
Accessories: Copics, Fiskars punch, buttons, adhesive pearls, ribbon

If Sisters Were Flowers, I'd Pick You

My 2 sisters and I try to get together at least once a month to craft and to talk story. We catch up on the latest about our children and grandchildren, talk about politics, religion, world affairs, our trips, our Korean dramas and soap operas, and we eat (breakfast) and eat (lunch) and eat (coffee break) and eat (sometimes dinner) oh my do we eat, LOL! I’m lucky to have such wonderful sisters whom I can rely on and also call my friends. It was my sisters who were my inspiration when I made this card for the Flutter by Wednesday #72 Challenge which calls for a favorite quote.

I also entered this card in La-La’s Weekly Wednesday Challenge #2, which calls for the use of “stitching”, and Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC30), which calls for the use of “pearls”.

The card details are:
Stamps: N/A - computer generated words
Paper: K&Co. Isabella Floral Embossed DP; Bazzill CS
Accessories: K&Co. Isabella Grand Adhesions; K&Co. Adhesive Gems (pearls); Swarovski crystal bicone and butterfly beads; Doodlebug Design Rub-on Stitches, and Nestabilities.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Rosie with Cat Winner!

I had another wonderful surprise today! Besides the four prizes given by La-La Land Crafts to the winners of their Weekly Wednesday Challenge, Jane, the host designer, had her very own personal giveaway—Rosie with Cat stamp. Woohoo, I was the lucky pick! Thanks, Jane, and congratulations for successfully hosting La-La’s very first challenge!

Congratulations also to the four winners of the challenge, Rowena, Cat, Ceal, and Michelle. Your entries were fabulous!

What a Nice Surprise!

Every Sunday morning, Splitcoast Stampers has a thread
where people can post their favorite Clean & Simple (CAS) cards for that week. To my surprise, Susan Raihala listed my CAS28 card as one of her favorites for week ending August 23, 2009! How cool is that!

Being a total newbie in this cardmaking environment, blogging, etc., I was so thrilled to be complimented by such an experienced and talented crafter as Susan. As you can see from her blog, Simplicity, her cards are really amazing and beautiful.

Thank you, Susan. You absolutely made my day!

Copic Creations Challenge No. 10

This is my very first Copic Creations Challenge entry, so I'm excited to participate but a little nervous about the process. Hope I entered correctly.

The challenge is to submit an artwork in red and/or pink, so I thought I'd enter my Lattebella card colored with pink and brown copics. I am new to coloring with copics and have a long way to go before I master it, so I was very happy to see that they had several copic technique tutorials on their website which were very informative.

Besides coloring with copics, I used Basic Grey DP, the Martha Stewart doily lace edger punch, and nestabilities for the label.
