Christmas RAK from Kris

Look what I got in the mail yesterday! 

I visited Kris' blog  yesterday and saw a picture of her ingeniously-created easel made out of a CD case.  In that post, she blocked out the name saying her girlfriend had not received it yet.  I thought, WOW, whoever this girlfriend is, she sure is lucky to be getting this awesome gift!  Well, needlesstosay, I was the lucky recipient!  When I opened my mail, I was blown away!!!

Not only did I get this adorable post it/note holder, I also got this beautiful card that housed the CD case.  Lookie how adorable this is!!!

The layout inside is beautifully done with DP and die cuts, and with the font she used, it is so elegant.  The CD case held several stamped images and she also included a whole bunch of goodies.  Thank you so much, Kris!  I know how much effort went into this project and I really appreciate your LABOR OF LOVE!  I'm sure most of you know Kris and know what an angel she is, but in case you haven't had the pleasure, please visit her blog--she'll brighten up your life!

Isn't this just the cutest Hello Kitty card?!!!  It is hanging on my Christmas card-tree stand and it is just adorable.  I love the background DP she used and the crochet flower is so pretty with the button accent.  I can't believe all the dew drops she sent, too!  I'm almost always using these on my cards, so I'll surely be putting these to good use.  Thank you so much, Denise!  I love your card and the embellies you sent!

When I first started my blog only a few months ago, it was just to have fun making cards and entering a few challenges.  Who would have known I'd make so many precious blogger friends along the way.  Thank you so much, Brenda and Denise, your thoughtfulness and support means the world to me!

Isn't this a beauty?!!!  This is what I got from my one-card-swap partner 1LuvnMama and I'm totally Luvn this Lolli Anya card and ornament!   If you think this is gorgeous by the looks of this picture, I'm telling yah it's a real STUNNING show stopper IRL!    Click on the picture and you'll see what I mean.  You'll see all the BLiNg! BLiNg! BLiNg! that she put on this card (a total of 45 gems in all!),  the sparkle of the Christmas Red Stickles on her hair ribbon, dress, shoes and lollipop, and the softness of the white fun flock on her dress.  I was--no, STILL am totally blown away by all the LOVE she put into this project!  Her workmanship is just exquisite and her copic coloring is gorgeous (even her intricately placed white highlites on Anya's cheeks blows me away!).

Wishing You the Blessings of the Season

Happy Friday!  I  bet everyone is glad the weekend is here.  Are you all still busy Christmas shopping or making gifts and/or cards?  I can't believe I haven't even put up my Christmas decorations yet!  I better get to it tomorrow or I won't have much time to enjoy it.

A short post today to show you the easel card I made for my other sister.  I was so taken by a card that was on display in our neighborhood stamp store called MunchKins that I had to case it.  Kellie's card was so beautiful I just had to make one like it for my sister, using the same DP and stamp that Kellie used and Jeanette's sketch.   

If you're in the Mililani area, visit Cyn at MunchKins--she's such a sweet lady.  She carries a wide variety of stamps (all the ones that I love--Magnolia, the Greeting Farm, StampingBella...) papers, copic makers and a whole lot of everything you would need.    I just love having her nearby--now any time I need something, I can just run down to her store.  And, it was there that I finally got to meet Michelle U in person--yay!  She is another sweetie!

Well, I better stop now and straighten up my craft room--looks like a tornado just ran through it, lol.

Rain Anya

Hello Friends!  Boy did I miss you all while I was away!  Hope you all had a really nice Thanksgiving as we did.  I can't believe how fast time is flying by with Christmas just around the corner.  I need to put up my decorations to get me in the spirit and to remind me that I need to hurry and get things done (like Christmas cards that I still have to make, etc. etc. etc.)!

I made another notebook for a dear niece who's visiting from Arizona for the holidays with her DH (he's actually my sweet nephew) and their adorable almost 2-yr old son.  She requested something in blue, her favorite color, with the Rain Anya image.   Her clothes, stockings, shoes and umbrella are all paper pieced.  I hope she likes it.  She'll be entered in the following challenges:

Girls Rule!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! 

I will be flying to the island of Maui tomorrow morning to spend Thanksgiving with my DH's side of the family and won't be back until Sunday so I wanted to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving!  While I'm away, I won't have access to any computers so I won't be doing any blogging or blog hopping, boo hoo hoo--I'm not sure if I'll survive being away from my computer that long--I know I'll be having computer withdrawals, lol -- I so love visiting all of you!

Teri's Card

Hello friends!  My OCS partner this month was Teri, our sweet OCS organizer herself!  When I found out Teri was my partner, I was so excited.  She is such a talented young lady and as everything she makes is so beautiful, I just couldn't wait to see her card.  Well, just as I thought, I received her card just moments ago and it is sooo pretty!  The gorgeous ribbon, her wonderfully colored sweet image and all the embellishments she used made her card so stunning!  I love the diecut she used on the front--it's perfect for this card.  Looks like another (must have) diecut I just have to buy, lol!

The inside of this card is really pretty, too--I think I will have to case this card, I like this layout!  Thanks so much, Teri, you are so inspiring.  I love, love, love your card!!!

Snow Anya

Happy Friday the 13th to yah all!  Are you superstitious?  Not me!   Friday the 13th is a great day for our family--my DH and eldest son were both born on that day, so I consider it to be a lucky day!

As I was surfing the web yesterday, I came across Flourishes "Favorite Things" Challenge.  The challenge is "to be inspired in some way by the words of the decades old Christmas favorite from the Sound of Music".  So, here are a few of the lines that inspired me to make this card...

Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens...

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes

Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes

Silver white winters that melt into springs

These are a few of my favorite things

I can just see Julie Andrews singing this song.  Wasn't that a great movie!

What also inspired me were the cards made by Jodi Lee and Becca Feeken and I cased their ideas in making my card.  They are such talented ladies, you must visit their blogs if you haven't already.  I used the Snow Anya stamp from the set "Rain Snow Shine", colored her with copic markers, put Fun Flock on her hand warmer and snow boots, and added glitters to the bottom of her dress.  I glued the Silver Bells Dew Drops on the poinsettias (I seem to be using dew drops on all of my cards lately, love this stuff) and embossed all the papers.  You can find both the stamp and the Dew Drops at Little C's.  I also lined the top part of her earmuffs, her eyes, her buttons and her shoe laces with the black atyou Spica pen.  You can't see it in the picture too well but it gives it a hint of glitter.  Thanks again, Sue, for your great Spica pens candy!

The Sweetest Thank You

I received this thank you card today from my girlfriend's daughter, Lauren, whom I had the pleasure of watching this past (furlough) Friday.   As we talked, Lauren mentioned that she liked to draw and color so I asked her if she wanted to learn how to make a card and make one for her mom.   She enjoyed it so much, I sent her home with some images to color along with some paper, glue, and embellishments.   What a nice surprise I had today when I received this card made with the things I gave her.  It came along with a beautiful store-bought card and a gift card (Eileen you shouldn't have!) but Lauren's card is what means most to me!   And, it is also so nice to see a child growing up so thoughtful and considerate.  Thank you, Lauren, you are the sweetest little girl! 

May I also share with you my good news?  I had another nice surprise today--I made the top three with my "Wish Big" entry in the Pixie Cottage Challenge.  What a wonderful surprise!

BTW, as I was looking into Pixie Cottage's Challenge (I couldn't enter that one because their theme was "Celebrate" and I didn't think my not doing laundry was cause for celebration, hee hee) I came across their blog candy.

To qualify for this candy, all you have to do is post this on your blog and tell them on your blog which stamp is your favorite from the five showing and why.

So, my favorite would be the penguins with the candy cane. Why? Because they are just adorable!

Pretty Hat Anya

Hello! Hope you all had a fun and safe Halloween as we did. My oldest son LOVES Halloween and went all out again this year with his decorations in his front yard--and it just gets more and more spectacular every year! But what surprised me most this year was that my younger son came to the party in costume! Now that was a first! I told him I was relieved to see that he'll be a fun dad when the time comes. I thought he was going to be an old fuddy-duddy, LOL! (I can say whatever, I don't think he reads my blog, hee hee.)

There are so many cute stamps out there, it is so hard not to want to buy them all. I love Magnolia's Tilda, Anya, Bella, Swiss Pixie, Whiff of Joy's Willow, and Sugar Nellies for starters. But when I saw the Manga Girl, I just couldn't get her fast enough! She is sooo cute--don't cha just love her?!

The Sugar Bowl also required the use of lace. Since I couldn't find a lace to match my colors, I made a "paper lace" with my Fiskars Border Punch--All A Fleur. I hope this passes. I used the Sizzix Flower Layers #3 to make my flower and put a button in the center and I used the Bow Easy again to make my bow. I had it for years and I wasn't using it. Now I just love it--it makes the perfect bows.

Sweet Halloween Tilda

I was invited to Jen Young's home this past Friday for a "color fun day" and got to meet some very nice ladies. We stamped, colored and of course ate throughout the whole time we were there (what's a get together without good food, eh?) and had a lot of fun! We even got to do some shopping at Little C's, located right in Jen's living room. Oh, btw, she has a fabulous Magnolia sale going on right now. She's selling them for just $6 each so visit her right away before she sells out!

I used the Atyou Spica glitter pens that I won from a blog hop by La-La Land Craft. This candy was from one of their designers--Sue, of Sue's Stamping Stuff. I don't think you can see the glitter from this photo, but I lined her hat, the bows in her hair, her shoelaces and the spider with these pens. I'm so lovin these pens--thanks so much, Sue!

Do any of you own a Bow Easy? I bought this thingie years ago but never used it. Well, the other day I came across Gina K's video on Stamp TV and finally learned how to do it. It really was bow easy and it comes out so much nicer than doing it freehand. I guess it was worth buying--that is, if I continue to use it.
