Sending a little Valentine love...


One of my craft goals this year is to add some "real" stitching to my cards.  I love the effect it gives but I haven't yet given it a try.   I'm almost out of these rub-on "stitches" so maybe one day soon I'll drag out my sewing machine... 

Question:  do those tiny toy-looking sewing machines really work?  Does anybody have one and would recommend it?  I've always been curious about them--would look cute in a craft room and not take up too much space...but does it really work?

I made this card following a sketch from Stamp With Fun (just flipped it around), and used a stamp that I've had for a while--still trying hard not to buy anything new.  I don't think I can hold out much longer, tho, there's too many cute images out there, lol!
Have been spending a lot of time in blogland lately.  So many beautiful creations to see, no time for housework...

Music of My Heart


Can you believe it,  it's February already!  Have you started on your Valentine cards yet?   I just received my BoBunny Crush Collection papers and some ribbons 'n lace in the mail from Stamp Simply Ribbon Store and was anxious to start.  

I told myself to work with the images I already have and to not buy any more "Valentine" stamps, so I inked up my good ole adorable hedgehogs to make this card.   I don't think my will power will last too long, tho, as I'm already itchin' to buy some of those cute images for Valentines that I've been seeing in blogland, lol! 

My sentiment was computer-generated and made with a JustRite stamp border.  This border is from the Christmas Joy set but is good for any occasion.  The vintage music sheet was a freebie from Mygrafico Digital Arts & Crafts Store, thank you! and the heart doilie is from Walmart.

I look forward to seeing your Valentine cards, thanks for looking at mine!

Simply Adorable


When I first saw these Sugar Nellie Simply Adorable images on cards popping up in blogland, I was so in awe of everyone's beautiful creations.  I never thought I'd be coloring any of these images myself (looked too difficult to me), but when I came across Jacqui's coloring tutorials, I was inspired to give it a try.  

Did you know this is a digital?   I got so excited as I was shopping because this meant I would be able to color almost immediately after pressing "buy"!   And what's nice about these digis is that the artist has shaded all the areas that need depth to make it simple to color.  What I thought would be difficult was actually simpler--with the help of Jacqui, of course.

Whatcha' Doing? 2


Some of you may have seen my post several days ago about my calendar project here.   I guess you could say this is the sequel, LOL!

My new calendar project came about after seeing Larissa's beautiful project here.    Her candy box was so adorable, I was anxious to case her.   Thanks Larissa for the inspiration and the links to your project!

I purchased the template from Cards etc. Shop  and with a little tweeking, turned my box into a calendar/post-it holder.  Luckily the width was perfect to hold the post-it, but I had to make the length a little longer to accommodate my calendar size.  

The template comes in an SVG file to cut with a Cricut, a GSD file to cut with the Silhouette and a PDF to print and cut out by hand.  Since I have neither the Cricut nor the Silhouette, I cut out the pattern by hand but used a Nestabilities Die Cut instead to cut out the design.

and a view of the back.  I used a coaster board for my stand so it would be stronger to hold the weight.  I covered the board with a pink Post-it Adhesive Craft Paper.  Note to self: attach a holder to the side for a pen/pencil on the next one.





Tiddly Inks' current challenge is "Just Be Me--a card that's all about You!".  Since I ask my DH "whatcha' doing today?" almost every day, guess this qualifies, lol!

Whatcha' Doing?


Hope everyone's keeping dry and warm.  The weather has been really yucky for everyone everywhere lately, I hope you're all staying safe and out of harm's way.

Just wanted to share with you a calendar project that I'm making a bunch of to give to family and friends.  I had all the intention of doing this last year but never got around to it only to end up throwing away a lot of calendars.  I hope to not do that again this year even if I have to tear off some months before I get ready to mail them out, lol!

New Beginnings!


Whiff of Joy's "Happy New Year Ben" is my first new stamp for the new year and this little guy would like to make a toast to "New Beginnings"!

Ben's adorable but it wasn't easy for me to color him, as I'm not good in coloring black (that was a challenge, I need a lot more practice for sure!).  But as I was coloring this image, I got to see for myself that the Copic X-Press It paper is as great as they say--especially when coloring blacks and reds.  It didn't bleed like my other papers did, I loved it!

Whiff of Joy's sketch got me started on my card, along with some other challenges with themes that was perfect for Ben.  And yay! I used some DPs from my old stash!   (Out with the old, in with the new--love it!)
