Inspirational Quote

Concord & 9th Sophisticated Script Stamp Set,
Studio G stamps, Wink of Stella Brush Glitter Marker,

My sister-in-law gave me a coloring book of "inspiring quotes to color and keep" and as I was flipping through the book, I was inspired to make a coloring page of my own with one of my favorite motivational quotes.

I stamped each letter with Versafine Onyx black ink to make the hand-scripted words, and I colored the floral images with copic and chameleon markers.  I used the colors from ColourQ's Challenge No. 350 and I followed the last row of Cas-ual Fridays Tic Tac Toe Challenge 152.  I used enamel dots on my flowers, did not use any patterned paper and although it's hard to see, I added sparkle to the flowers with a Wink of Stella brush.

Kathy's 30 Day Coloring Challenge continues to inspire me to color a few minutes a day and I must say I AM doing more of what makes me happy.  :)

Thanks for dropping in and have a great day!

Just a Note

Penny Black Blooming Garden
Papertrey Ink Don't Forget to Write sentiment

I have a really simple card to share with you today.  I chose this image as I thought daisies would be the easiest to color for my first try with the Chameleon markers I just recently purchased.  It took a little practice to know how long to infuse the nib with the toning medium but because the image was small, it wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be.  I think I'll stick to the smaller images, though, when using the Chameleon makers.  This card is only 3 1/2" x 5",  a small note card.

I'm still participating in Kathy's 30 DayColoring Challenge, trying to practice my coloring for at least 30 minutes a day.  This is only the second card so far but I'm enjoying coloring more and hopefully my card stash will increase along the way.

On a personal note, I want to thank Lynn for my markers, as I was able to buy them with the Ben Franklin gift card she sent me.  It was quite a surprise to find out I won a huge prize from her silent "un-contest" that she held on her blog.  Thank you so much for all the goodies Lynn!

I'll also be linking this card to Addicted to Stamps and More, Challenge 201, Anything Goes.

Thank you so much for stopping by.  Have a great day!

30 Day Coloring Challenge

Stampendous Peony Spray, Whiff of Joy sentiment,
Koi Water Colors

Hello!  I decided to participate in Kathy Racoosin's The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge.   The goal for this challenge is to color something every day even if it's for only 10 minutes a day. To color anything you want with any medium and to just have fun.

I always loved the look of water colored images but I always struggled with it and usually ended by just giving up.  This time I decided to put more time and effort into it and kept practicing.  After five attempts, and with a little improvement each time, I was encouraged with my end result.

I'm inspired to continue playing along in this challenge that will hopefully improve my coloring skills in the process.  Thank you Kathy for this challenge, your daily tips, videos and tutorial.  You are such an inspiration!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Way To Go Graduate!

Darice Embossing Folder - Fireworks, Avery Elle - Numbered Balloons Die,
Impression Obsession - Mini Mortarboard die, My Favorite Things sentiment

I made a high school graduation card for a young man using his school colors green and silver.  The numbered balloon dies were cut from DCWV green foiled cardstock and the sentiment was embossed with silver embossing power.  I was happy with the way the card came together with the embossed fireworks in the background.

Thanks so much for looking and have a great day!

Golden Anniversary

Paper Source "Cottage Bloom" stamp,
Penny Black "Celebrations" and QuicKutz "Parade" dies

I wanted my card for my sister and brother-in-law's 50th Anniversary to have a lot of gold, shimmer and shine.  I remembered one of Yana Smakula's cards that I really loved so I CASEd her design. I love Yana's style and have been inspired by many of her creations.

The CAS Mix Up June Challenge is Stamping + Die-cuts + your choice.  My choice was embossing.

I stamped and heat embossed my floral image on Bazzill (Metallic Galaxy) cardstock with VersaMark and Wow embossing powder (Metallic Gold Rich Pale) and used Bazzill (Gold Leaf) cardstock to cut out my sentiment.   I was happy that the only gold embossing powder that I had matched the color of the gold cardstock so well.

As always, thanks for stopping by to take a peek.

For You

Papertrey Ink Don't Forget to Write stamp; Papertrey dye inks;
Lil' Inker Designs stitched die

I made a few of  these very CAS gift card holders to keep on hand and to enter in a couple of challenges:  Addicted to CAS Challenge #89 Petals and Case this Sketch #175.

I used the stamps from Papertrey Ink's kit Don't Forget to Write and their dye inks.  With the Misti, I was able to do some restamping where needed which saved me a lot of do overs.  Love my Misti!

Birthday Bash

Tim Holtz Bird Crazy stamp, Simon Says Stamp Cuddly Critters Accessories stamp
Paper Smooches Balloons die, Clearly Besotted So to Speak die

A few weeks ago, my girlfriend and I were talking over lunch about our upcoming birthdays next month and although it's true that time flies when you're having fun, we both cannot believe we'll soon be another decade older! What you see above is just about how some of our conversation went that day so I thought it would fun to put it into a card for her.

I used Tim Holtz's stamp, Bird Crazy, colored them with copics, put Glossy Accents on their eyes, and sponged the balloon with distress ink.  My quotes were computer-generated and cut out with dies.

I'll be entering my card in the following challenges:   AAA Cards Game #65 - The 2d Big Birthday Bash and Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes
