A Card for Alison and Jim

The Whiff of Joy DT members have set up a challenge for us to make baby cards for Alison Acton (one of WOJ's illustrators), who has recently given birth to her first child. They would like us to flood her and her husband, Jim, with cards to welcome their newborn son, Sam. If you are interested in joining in, visit Bev at All the Things I Love for details.

Since this card also fits the Creative Card Crew Challenge 33, Babies and Children, it will be entered in that challenge as well, before it is mailed to Alison.

Card recipe:

There was no stamping done on this card, except for the sentiment. I used K&Company's Grand Adhesions; Carolee's Creations-Baby Boy DP; Bazzill CS; Nestabilities; Martha Stewart punch; and ribbons, charms and adhesive pearls from my stash.

Thanks much for looking!

Thinking of You

Hello! Hope you all had a great weekend!

It seems ages since I made a card. I took a break to catch up on my Korean dramas and I got stuck. It's bad when you can watch it on the internet because it's always "just one more episode and I'll stop" but of course I never did. I kept watching for hours on end.

Well, today I thought I better make another card and enter some challenges before I get really stale. I took out my cute pixie stamp to get me in the mood (don't you just love these images?) and had fun coloring her but I didn't do well on her face, it came out splotchy. Practice, practice, practice, right? I'll get better one day.

I will be entering Heidi in the following 6 challenges, starting with this sketch:

Create 4 Fun - sketch

CRAFT Challenge 21 - a recipe: 1 ribbon, 2 buttons, 3 papers

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge 5 - ribbons and fibres

Stamp Something - bling it
(glitters used on her hairpin and wings)

PaperPlay Challenge - favorite embellishment
(favorite embellishment: ribbons and flowers!)

Flutter by Wednesday 79 - butterfly or fairy
(Fairy - Pixie image)

Hmmm, that's a lot of challenges. Makes up for the week I lazed around, heehee.

Recipe:
Doodlebug Berry Blue DP and Bazzill CS; CC Designs Heidi among the flowers stamp; Marvy flower punch; Doodlebug buttons; Savvy thinking of you stamp; Doodlebug glitters and copic markers.

I really want to thank you for stopping by and for the comments you leave me. They really, really mean a lot! Have a great day!

Fashion Girl

Hello! I hope you were one of the lucky ones to have the day off today so you could enjoy a 3-day weekend.

Before I tell you about my Anya card, can I tell you my good news? I made the "Top 3" with my Surfer Ian card in the following two challenges--Die Cuts r Us Design Team Challenge and Whimsy Stamp Challenge. Woohoo!!! I am so grateful to both of them for giving me the opportunity to enter their inspiring challenges !

Today's card will be entered in 5 challenges. It now seems to be my card-making routine to first find a sketch challenge to begin with. This usually helps by giving me a jump start and lays my foundation. Jessica's sketch was fun and easy to work with.

1. Farm Fresh Friday

Sketch 9 by Jessica Diedrich

2. Cute Card Thursday, Challenge 81 - So Charming!
(charm - handbag)

3. Stamp Something - Color Challenge Brown

5. Whimsy Stamps, Challenge 23 - Get Punchy
(Flower - Marvy punch)

Other supplies: Nestabilities; copic markers; adhesive pearls, ribbon and button (from stash).

I really appreciate your stopping by and for any comments you might make. Thanks for looking!

Surfer Ian

Hello and thank you for dropping in!

I found a challenge called Pile it on! so pile it on I did and Ian will be entered in six challenges using Mojomonday's sketch:

2. ABC Challenge - E is for embossing

3. Pile it on! - Challenge #18 - Three Dimensional + addtional challenges

4. Whimsy Stamps - Challenge 22 - Sugar & Spice, Frogs & Snails (girl or boy theme)

5. Die Cuts R Us - Got Color? (using coloring as main focus)

6. Crafty Cardmakers - Challenge 5 - Ribbons & Fibers

Challenge recipe:

Greeting Farm Surfer Ian gave my card the "boy theme" and was popped up with pop dots, as well as the nestabilities circles, for the "3D effect". The nestie circle was also "embossed" with Fiskars Texture Plate, Bubbles, and the "ribbon" is from Chatterbox. The DP is Making Memories Great Escape. Ian was "colored" with copic markers.

Happy Birthday, Ryan!

Good morning. Hope you're having a wonderful Sunday!

Just wanted to share with you a quick, no frills, CAS card that I made for my son who's turning 30 something (in case I shouldn't be mentioning his age, lol) in a few days. Just a simple card with a birthday message for a son who works 65+ hours a week with only Sundays off. His birthday does not fall on a Sunday, but I hope he can still "spoil himself silly"!

Card recipe:
Stamps: Craft Lounge - Hangin' Loose with Kona; Penny Black
Ink: Copic Markers
