Has anyone seen my mojo?

I think I lost it again...

Two things invariably happens when I come home from a trip:   1. I come home with a cold and   2. I lose my mojo.  I'm feeling a lot better now (thanks everyone for your well wishes!) but I just don't feel like creating anything!  What I have to share with you today are some Mother's Day cards that I made before my nephew's beautiful wedding and our trip to Vegas.  I haven't made anything since.  

These doilies were clear embossed on white card stock, sponged with distress inks and cut out with the Nestabilities dye.  The digital butterflies were printed on DP.

This is another version of the card I posted several weeks ago,  just with different colors and DP.

I am sure that as I visit you and see your beautiful creations, I will soon be inspired to jump right back in.  Maybe finding a good card challenge will give me the push that I need, you think?

I'm back but....

Hi everyone!  Hope you've all been well, I've missed you.
I came home a few days ago from a great trip in Vegas (great as in great fun not great wins, lol) but I also came home with a cold and am still feeling under the weather.  So although I've taken a peek at what you've been up to (can't keep me away from you too long), I'm sorry for not leaving you any comments--I don't  have the energy to stay on the computer too long  :(

I did want to take a moment, tho, to at least say hello and to thank some special people for the cards that they made me.

Happy Mother's Day

Hello!  I'm so glad you stopped by.  This may be my only chance to wish you all a Happy Mother's Day!   With my nephew's wedding coming up this weekend and a trip scheduled shortly thereafter, I'll probably not have a chance to post again or do much blog hopping for a couple of weeks.

   

I made this Mother's Day card for my MIL.  In making this, I was able to accomplish two things that I've been meaning to try from  my "to do list"--the lattice weave, as seen on the Amazing Paper Grace (you can find the tutorial here) and a digital butterfly, as seen on Jennifer Mcguire Ink (you can find the tutorials here and here).    Thank you Becca and Jennifer, these were fun to do!

My card was made today but this box was made several weeks ago.  It was not intended to go with the card as a set (as you can tell by the different DPs I used), but I guess it could be given together since the colors are similar.   I initially made it as a suggestion to use as a wedding-shower favor.

  

My sister liked it so we made these in this color for the shower, held this past Saturday.  The boxes were filled with bath and beauty products and everyone loved them.  It took us (my 2 sisters and I) 3 days to make them but we had fun doing it.  I always enjoy getting together with them to craft and talk story.

 

This is the (letter-size) gift "card" holder that my sister Jane and I made for our shower gift.   Jane made the dress and I made the box.  I used the nugget box template (found here) but had to alter the size to make it a little longer.   Jane CASEd the dress freehand from a card that I have, so I don't have a pattern to share with you, sorry.

Bloomin' Wonderful

Hello!  I hope you are all having

 a bloomin' wonderful day!

Yesterday, I was all set to make a card--had my DP, embellies and sentiment out, and then, agh! none of the stamps I had seemed to go with what I had in mind.  I later thought of Amy Young's Darby & Bumbles images and just had to have it so I logged in to All That Scraps, ordered and downloaded the digital images and in seconds was all set to go again.   Aren't digitals wonderful!  

This turned into an easel card because the sentiment was large and Stampin' Up! Stitched Sweet Pea flowers were used (thanks again Brenda!) as it fit perfectly for the challenges with sewing themes.

Just Magnolia

There are so many techniques and projects that I have on my list to try and this was one of them--the tent card.  Many of you have already tried this but if you haven't and you'd like to make this too, you can find Dena's tutorial here.  It's a fun card to make.

Although this card was entered in several challenges, it was especially nice to take part in Just Magnolia's birthday challenge.    Happy 1st Birthday Just Magnolia!!!

To make this card, I flipped the sketch, added foam core to the seat of Tilda's swing (so she could sit comfortably without falling off), cut out some flowers from the DP to scatter on the trellis and added the grass to hide the folds of the card.
