Feel Better

It'll Be Okay

Hello everyone!  Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend.

A sweet friend of mine has been feeling under the weather so I thought I'd send her this card to let her know I'm thinking of her and hoping that she'll get well soon.

I used the Pure Innocence set called My Umbrella (sentiments included), which is just perfect for a get well card.    It's a simple Nestabilities shaped card--the only hard part was looking for the right DP.  This was my second go at it, the first set of DPs I used just didn't look good.  I "feel better" about this one, lol.  The DP is a double sided one which helped.  The umbrella is paper pieced.

The Challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog - Paper Piecing
Stampin' for the Weekend, Challenge 45 - Anything Goes

The Recipe:
Stamp:  My Favorite Things
Paper:  Jillibean Soup, Basic Grey
Ink:  Copic Markers, Memento
Other:  Nestabilities, Crystal Stickers, pop dots, ribbon, Martha Stewart punch

Thanks so much for stopping by, sure do appreciate it.  Have a fabulous Sunday!

A New Little Someone

 Welcome
Keenan Shigero Kanalupaehonua Palakiko
born 08.09.10

Phew, that's quite a name isn't it?   Such a beautiful name!

Just a short post today to take this opportunity to congratulate Kris and her family on the birth of their new bundle of joy and to share with you the card that I made for them.   It was so wonderful to hear today that Keenan is gaining weight and doing really well and that Kris is also doing better.   Congratulations on the birth of your little miracle Kris!

Miss Anya

One of my favorite things to make is an altered notebook to give away.  A "just because" kind of gift that'll hopefully put a smile on her face and be useful as well.  I seem to use this stamp often, I don't know why as I have several Anyas still uninked.   But I guess she's my favorite--she was my very first Anya stamp.

Since this is a "notebook", I purposely avoided bulky items--no bow or flowers (that was hard, lol), and kept to a simple layout.

The Challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog - Make a Gift
Charisma Cardz Challenges, #33 - Die Cuts
Sweet Stampin Challenge Blog, #39 - Use your Favorite Stamp

Time

...heals all wounds, that's what they say.  I guess it's true, in a sense.  It's been a while since I've wanted to craft or been an active blogger, but I've recently felt like coloring and crafting again.   I think I will, soon...

Time...also flys.  I can't believe it's been a year since I first started my blog.

So to celebrate, I have some candy.  There are no rules, you don't have to be a follower--just be sure to leave me a comment so you can be entered in the draw.

I have one twist, tho--it's my party right?  LOL!!!   For those of you who have followed me regularly (I think you know who you are and I appreciate you soooo much!), your name will be entered twice.  And if for some reason you weren't able to see this post in time, I'll be entering your name anyway.  ;)

Aside from that, it'll be a fair draw I promise you, LOL.  As usual, the names will be thrown in a hat and my DH will do the pickin.  This candy will be short and sweet and will end on Wednesday, August 11.  The winner will be announced on Thursday.

Thank you so much for visiting my simple little blog and for all the support you've given me this past year.  I am so grateful for all the friendships I've made through blogland, I've learned so much from you.  Big hugs to you all!

XOXO to my dear friends who have called or emailed me.  Your thoughtfulness meant a lot!

Have a wonderful week!

Congrats!

The Color Throwdown is celebrating their 100th challenge with a huge party and a long list of fabulous prizes!   Here's my card for this challenge:

Congrats, Color Throwdown!

My DP had all the colors I needed but I didn't want to rely on that alone so I hunted high and low for the right embellie.  Everything was too big until I saw these cute little rub-on images.  The flower and leaves were the right colors but the bird was clear.  I colored it pinkish and wahlah, I had the color combo!

What's that?  My little birdie just told me she wants some attention, too!   She wants to be entered in the Charisma Cardz Challenge, Week 27 - Watch the Birdie, so there she flew!

The recipe:
Stamp:  Tiddly Inks Digi, Send Me A Sign Bugg
Paper:  Basic Grey, Lollipop Shoppe
Ink:  Copic Markers, Distress Ink
Other:  Nestabilities; Rub-On sentiment, flower and bird; Ribbon; Pop Dots

Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful weekend!

Criss-Cross Pocket Card

Hello friends!  Hope you had a fabulous 4th of July weekend.

I always wanted to make a criss-cross pocket card and since this was the challenge at Just Magnolia Challenge Blog, it was the perfect time to give it a try.   See Jeanette's video here for the details.

The Nestabilities die cut was extended off the top edge so the insert could be pulled out easily.

The sentiment on the pocket is a stamp and the sentiment on the insert is a rub on.  Opps, just noticed the font is different.  :(    oh well....  The CS for the insert looked too plain so I got a border stamp and stamped the edges with the VersaMark watermark ink.  It came out darker than I wanted--another, oh well... lol    The leaves were originally green but the color was too contrasting so I changed it by using mauve mulberry paper instead.

The challenges
Just Magnolia Challenge Blog - Week 62, Criss-Cross Card
Creative Card Crew Challenge - To Die For Challenge

The recipe:
Stamp:  Magnolia, Whiff of Joy
Paper:  My Mind's Eye, Lush
Ink:  Memento, VersaMark, Copic Markers
Tools:  Nestabilities Labels Ten, Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch,  Leaf Punch--?
Other:  Prima flowers,  adhesive pearls, pop dots, rub on

Hope you're having a great week.  Thanks for looking!
