Teri's Card

Hello friends!  My OCS partner this month was Teri, our sweet OCS organizer herself!  When I found out Teri was my partner, I was so excited.  She is such a talented young lady and as everything she makes is so beautiful, I just couldn't wait to see her card.  Well, just as I thought, I received her card just moments ago and it is sooo pretty!  The gorgeous ribbon, her wonderfully colored sweet image and all the embellishments she used made her card so stunning!  I love the diecut she used on the front--it's perfect for this card.  Looks like another (must have) diecut I just have to buy, lol!

The inside of this card is really pretty, too--I think I will have to case this card, I like this layout!  Thanks so much, Teri, you are so inspiring.  I love, love, love your card!!!

A Birthday/Thank You Card

Hello friends and happy hump day to you!   Just a short post today to share with you the Birthday/Thank You card that I sent to Brenda in appreciation for her awesome blog candy (see post below).  Her organizer and recipe book are even prettier in real life!  Thank you, Brenda, I love them!!!  I hope you've received your card before you read this post... :)

Snow Anya

Happy Friday the 13th to yah all!  Are you superstitious?  Not me!   Friday the 13th is a great day for our family--my DH and eldest son were both born on that day, so I consider it to be a lucky day!

As I was surfing the web yesterday, I came across Flourishes "Favorite Things" Challenge.  The challenge is "to be inspired in some way by the words of the decades old Christmas favorite from the Sound of Music".  So, here are a few of the lines that inspired me to make this card...

Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens...

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes

Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes

Silver white winters that melt into springs

These are a few of my favorite things

I can just see Julie Andrews singing this song.  Wasn't that a great movie!

What also inspired me were the cards made by Jodi Lee and Becca Feeken and I cased their ideas in making my card.  They are such talented ladies, you must visit their blogs if you haven't already.  I used the Snow Anya stamp from the set "Rain Snow Shine", colored her with copic markers, put Fun Flock on her hand warmer and snow boots, and added glitters to the bottom of her dress.  I glued the Silver Bells Dew Drops on the poinsettias (I seem to be using dew drops on all of my cards lately, love this stuff) and embossed all the papers.  You can find both the stamp and the Dew Drops at Little C's.  I also lined the top part of her earmuffs, her eyes, her buttons and her shoe laces with the black atyou Spica pen.  You can't see it in the picture too well but it gives it a hint of glitter.  Thanks again, Sue, for your great Spica pens candy!

I was the winner of Brenda's Birthday Blog Candy!    Besides all the goodies she added, the greatest part of all was winning the beautiful organizer and recipe book that she made!  Yup, today is my lucky day!  Thanks so much, Brenda, and Happy Birthday!!!    You are certainly Sweet as a Gumdrop!                       

The Sweetest Thank You

I received this thank you card today from my girlfriend's daughter, Lauren, whom I had the pleasure of watching this past (furlough) Friday.   As we talked, Lauren mentioned that she liked to draw and color so I asked her if she wanted to learn how to make a card and make one for her mom.   She enjoyed it so much, I sent her home with some images to color along with some paper, glue, and embellishments.   What a nice surprise I had today when I received this card made with the things I gave her.  It came along with a beautiful store-bought card and a gift card (Eileen you shouldn't have!) but Lauren's card is what means most to me!   And, it is also so nice to see a child growing up so thoughtful and considerate.  Thank you, Lauren, you are the sweetest little girl! 

May I also share with you my good news?  I had another nice surprise today--I made the top three with my "Wish Big" entry in the Pixie Cottage Challenge.  What a wonderful surprise!

This is sooo me lately! LOL! Ever since I started my blog, I'm spending more and more time in my craft room. Terrible, huh? But at least I'm using my craft supply these days and not just salting it, right? So, instead of doing laundry, this is the card I made for the following challenges:

I used The Greeting Farm - Hope & Grace Laundry stamp, Sandy Lion- Funtastik Garden DP, colored her with Copic Markers, used the Nestibilities Circle Die, ribbon from Chatterbox and Dew Drops.

BTW, as I was looking into Pixie Cottage's Challenge (I couldn't enter that one because their theme was "Celebrate" and I didn't think my not doing laundry was cause for celebration, hee hee) I came across their blog candy.

To qualify for this candy, all you have to do is post this on your blog and tell them on your blog which stamp is your favorite from the five showing and why.

So, my favorite would be the penguins with the candy cane. Why? Because they are just adorable!

Pretty Hat Anya

Hello! Hope you all had a fun and safe Halloween as we did. My oldest son LOVES Halloween and went all out again this year with his decorations in his front yard--and it just gets more and more spectacular every year! But what surprised me most this year was that my younger son came to the party in costume! Now that was a first! I told him I was relieved to see that he'll be a fun dad when the time comes. I thought he was going to be an old fuddy-duddy, LOL! (I can say whatever, I don't think he reads my blog, hee hee.)

Now for my card. Would you believe I found 7 challenges that I can enter my Pretty Hat Anya in? Starting with a sketch and the color challenge, they are:

It was such a coincidence that 3 challenges had text as their criteria. I don't know what the language on the background DP is but I do know it's not English. I colored Anya with Copic Markers and used white opal Liquid Pearls on her necklace.

My sister-in-law is ill right now so I'll be sending her this "we're thinking of you" card. I hope it can cheer her up a bit.
