He..llo

Thanks to Donna's and Jennifer Mcguire's blogs, I was inspired to try my hand at making my own background paper using distress inks.   I sponged 2 colors on this card and spritzed some water on the top section to get that splotchy effect.  This was the first time I tried this technique and it took me several trys.  I hope I'll get better with practice.

As you can see, I'm loving these Nestie-sized cards.  In fact, my next post will be similar and I'll be casing yet another one of Donna's cards.  Thanks Donna for all your email help and tips!  I've learned so much from you and from Jennifer's videos.

Now, about this adorable image.  Isn't he the cutest most sweetest bunny?  He is one of six of Amy Young's Sweet November Baby Bunnies.  Amy's bunnies come in rubba and digi so if you gotta have them too, you can find them at All That Scraps and Munchkins in Hawaii.

Next, some challenges:

Hello Friend!

...swinging by with some Birthday Wishes!

Are you a Pure Innocence fan like I am?  She is one of my favorites now and I hope she'll also stir the heart of the special birthday girl who'll be getting this card.   I used the wiper card pattern for this but left out the "wiper".  One of the nice things about the wiper card is that it can fold for mailing.  I only hope it'll get to her without any of the pieces falling off (worried about her tiny hands and the little birdie since they're attached with itsy bitsy pieces of foam mounts).   Happy Birthday GF!

Entered her in some challenges too:
Stamp Something - Touch of Spring Somethings
Totally Gorjuss - Challenge 18, Flower Power
Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC55), Flowers
Creative Belli Blog Challenge 85 - Butterflies and Dragonflies
Card recipe:
Paper:  Suzy's Zoo, Carolees Creations
Stamp:  Pure Innocence Digital Stamp 023,  Tree from Stampendous Precious Moments
Ink:  Copic Markers
Other:  Nestabilities, JudiKins Spring Meadow Speckles, Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch, Rubon. Adhesive Pearls

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Heaven Sent

We had some wonderful news a few days ago, my nephew and his wife celebrated the birth of their second son, Benjamin, a 5 lb, 10 ounce healthy baby boy!   For a while we were worried about mother but she is doing great, too!  Such a blessing, we are so thankful.

I had surely left my mojo back in Vegas (that and just been so darned lazy) but this news prompted me to get off my b___ and gave me the push I needed.   Made a card for them and also found some challenges to enter.

2.  By the Cute and Girly, February Challenge - Love
3.  Crafty Cardmakers, Challenge 14 - Digital Delights
4.  Simon Says Stamp Challenge, Happy Hello Hop and Recipe Challenge
(3 types of embellishments; 2 patterned papers, 1 image)
5.  The Pink Elephant, Challenge 54 - Ribbon
6.  Totally Papercrafts Challenge 3 - Buttons & Bows

Card recipe:
Paper:  Sweetwater (clouds paper) and K&Co, Cuddly Friends (paper-pieced baby clothes)
Stamp:  Baby Boy digi
Ink:  Copic Markers
Misc:  Dew Drops; Martha Stewart punch; DCWV Rub.on Quote Stack, Boy; buttons, ribbons, glitter, foam mounts from stash.

At first I wasn't a fan of digis, wanted the rubba in my hands, but I think I'm addicted to it now (thanks to my DF Charlotte!).  I didn't have a baby stamp so went hunting for a digi and wahlah, with a click, it's there.  No need to wait for the mail.  Don't you just love progress?

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Home Sweet Home

I love going away on trips but it's always nice to be back at home.  I hope you all had a nice Valentine's Day and President's Day holiday.

I also had some sweet surprises waiting for me when I got home--a couple of very nice packages from 2 very sweet DFs.

From Brenda, Sweet as a Gumdrop

When I first saw Brenda's notepads and cup containers on her blog, I thought they were just the cutest things so you can imagine how excited and delighted I was when I opened my package.  Brenda, thank you so much for your thoughtfulness.  I am still toying with the idea of buying a BIA maker but just yesterday purchased the Sizzix die to make these daisies so as you can see, you have really inspired me with your creativity!    You are always creating such awesome projects and I just love this RAK, thank you!

From 1LuvnMama, Luvn The Journey

And from Mama, isn't this the sweetest desk tidy?!!!  You must go over and visit Mama's blog because she made a variety of these desk tidies and each and every one of them is just so cute and oh so pretty.   I can't believe how lucky I am to have received this.   Thank you DF for thinking of me.  You ARE 1LuvnMama!!!

From Elise, Paper Love Affair

When I received this award from my new blogging friend, Elise, I was so touched that she had thought of me.  I have been a "stalker" of Elise's gorgeous work for only a few months but because of her warm personality and sweet emails, I feel I have known her for years.   Thank you for this lovely award, Elise!   I hope I do this and pass this on correctly.

The guidelines:
Copy the award from my blog
Link to the person who gave me the award
Give 7 interesting facts about yourself
Select 7 other blogs to present this to
Link to their blogs

Ok, I'll tell you 7 things I love, tho I doubt it's interesting since I'm pretty much a very boring person, LOL!

I love:
1.  DH--we just celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary
2.  coffee--can't start my day without it, but trying to cut down
3.  Korean dramas--tho sometimes that seems to be taking a back seat to crafting/blogging lately
4.  blog hopping--I love seeing all of your wonderful creations!
5.  spicy ahi poke (raw fish)/sushi
6.  Vegas
7.  crafts (duh)

I now pass this on to 7 blogging friends:

Have fun ladies and thank you Elise for thinking of me!

Sir Stampalot Meets Tilda and a Blog Candy Win!

edited to add link (sorry)

Imagine this, Miss Tilda watching her new neighbors move in, ready to welcome them to their new neighborhood.  This card was made with some challenges in mind:

1.  Floral Fantasies' Sir Stampalot Challenge and Blog Hop.   In honor of  their sponsor, Sir Stampalot's, move to a spacious new shop in Peterborough, Floral Fantasies made "Moving" as their theme for this challenge.  Sir Stampalot has moved to Tilda's neighborhood and she is just thrilled to have their store nearby!

2.  Just Magnolia Challenge - Hearts and Flowers.

3.  Flutter by Wednesday - #95, Open Challenge with butterfly, fairy, or angel

Now to share my surprise.  I'm sure by now everyone has heard that Joy is the guest DT for the Stamp and Creat Blog.   To celebrate her DT debut, Joy offered some delicious blog candy and lucky me, I won the random draw!  Thank you so much Joy for the cute Little Lamb stamp and charms from Stamp and Create!   Your DT creations are awesome!

I'll be going on a little trip in a few days so this will most likely be my last post until I come back (if I don't leave my mojo behind, that is) and I won't be doing any blog hoping to visit you all while I'm away, boo hoo hoo.  Oh, oh, looks like computer withdrawls coming up again.....lol

Take care and have a great day!

Chanter Heartsong

If you are a follower of Amy Young (A thousand sheets of paper), you are most likely a fan of her Sweet November stamps, too-- one of my favorites being Ms Chanter Heartsong.   Amy's February Sweet November stamps/digis were recently released at All That Scraps and I can't wait to get my hands on Ms Sparkle Thistleweed, another favorite from this collection.

Ms Heartsong will be entered in KL Stampin' N' Scrappin's Challenge #15, a sketch (flipped sideways).  I used Basic Grey Urban Prairie DP, Nestabilities, Making Memories Rub-on Card Sayings, Copic Markers, and embellies from my stash.
Congrats, Amy, on your new release!!!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
